Guest Service Agent - Melbourne CBD

Role Details

The role of our Guest Service Agent (Receptionist) is like no other, no two days are the same with duties including:

  • Acknowledging guests and handling all enquiries

  • Preparing for guest arrivals and departures

  • Checking In arriving guests and ensuring all check in details are accurate and entered into the Property Management System correctly

  • Ensuring correct and valid methods of payment are received for all guests checking in

  • Liaising constantly with the housekeeping department ensuring room availability and status are kept up to date and accurate at all times

  • Checking out guests and ensuring their accounts are paid in full

  • Posting manual and miscellaneous charges as required

  • Maintaining cash security following correct procedures

  • Counting and balancing the float at the completion of the shift

  • Reconciling credit card charged at the completion of a shift

  • Balancing of your cashier at the completion of a shift

  • Handing over any relevant information/details to the next shift

  • Assisting with reservations, room charges and requests for rate information

  • Responding to all guest requests where possible

  • Communicating guest feedback, complaints and operational issues to the Building Managers

Skills

Ideally you will come to us with:

  • Efficient and effective communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel

  • Knowledge of CMS or similar

  • Excellent phone manners

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to work under pressure

  • Experience in guest feedback management

  • Passionate about genuine guest experiences

  • Effective communicator to all levels and departments

  • Available to work varied shifts including early mornings, late evenings with weekend work and Public Holidays involved

  • Keen to work in a team environment where roles intertwine
